Cristóbal Márquez
Founder & Artistic Director of
Ballet Conservatory of Salt Lake City
Cristóbal Márquez is a native of Santiago, Chile. His dance training began at the Teatro de Municipal de Chile and the University of Chile.
Cristóbal came to the United States at the invitation of Houston Ballet and later had professional dance contracts with Colorado Ballet, Columbia Classical Ballet, and as soloist for Nevada Ballet Theatre. Marquez went on to guest for Roswell Ballet Theatre, Queen City Ballet, Ballet Fantastique and Denver Ballet. Representing the Republic of Chile at the Lincoln Center in N.Y.C. in 2005, he danced the pas de deux from La Fille Mal Gardee. He has worked with directors Ivan Nagy (retired from Ballet Santaigo), Ben Stevenson (Texas Ballet Theatre), Martin Friedman (Kirov Academy Washington D.C.), Ricardo Bustamante (San Francisco Ballet). Marquez has danced under Hector Zaraspe (retired as Director of Julliard) and choreographers Michael Pink (Milwaukee Ballet), Christopher Wheeldon (New York City Ballet), Peter Anastos (Idaho Ballet) and many others.
Cristóbal still performs as a guest artist and has served as guest faculty for ballet intensives while also privately coaching students for international ballet competitions. Cristóbal's passion for teaching began in Chile while working for Remolino Dance Theatre and the Ministry of Education for the Performing Arts. In this capacity he performed at international festivals throughout South America and had the honor of performing for the President of Chile. In 2009, Marquez was an advisor at the American Ballet Competition.
Cristóbal Márquez's venture in Salt Lake City began as co-founder of both the Salt Lake Ballet Conservatory and the Salt Lake City Ballet Conservatory in Utah. In April 2010 he opened his own Ballet Conservatory of Salt Lake City and he is very excited to bring a vivaciousness to the dance community.
Rebecca Brimhall

Rebecca was born in Manassas Virginia and began her early training at serveral different schools in Bankog, Thailand and Cebu, Philippnes. She further continued her training at the Northern Virginia Dance Academy under director Robin Sturm before relocating to Las Vegas in 1999 where she joined the Academy of Nevada Ballet Theatre. She continued her dance education at ANBT as well as at the Kirov Academy in Washington DC, and Tara Foy founder and Artistic Director for the Dance Center in Las Vegas. Upon graduation she was offered a contract with the Nevada Ballet Theatre and performed for the company from 2002 to 2010. In 2005 she was promoted to Solosist and continued to perform many solo and principal roles for the company. She performed leading roles in George Balanchine's Concerto Barocco and Who Cares?, James Jeon's Varaiations for 12, Val Caniparoli's Lambarena, Bruce Steivel's Peter Pan and Dracula, Peter Anastos Cinderella, and James Canfeild's Equinoxe, Neon Pas, Coco, Giselle and Cyclical Night.
Rebecca has performed at Constitution Hall and the Kennedy Center in Washington DC as well as other cites in Utah, California, Nevada and toured to Lisbon, Portugal. She began teaching for Cristobal in 2007 and has since taught in Las Vegas, Utah and Beijing, China. Rebecca has also performed in several charity benefits and guesting positions. She also recieved her Graduate Gemologist from the Gemological Institute of America in 2010. Rebecca is thrilled to be joining BCSLC and looks forward to working with all the aspiring young professionals in the Salt Lake community.

Ballet Teacher
Was born in Cordoba Argentina in the early 70’s & began his dance studies at the age of 5. At the age of 16, he graduated with honors from the national School of Art’s, in Buenos Aires.Argentina. And was also awarded a Dance Diploma from Colon Theatre’s the Advanced Art’s Institute, in Argentina. He has been taught by greats such as Jorge Tomin, Irupe Pereyra Parodi, Olga Ferri, Enrrique Lommi, Lydia Segnni, Liliana Belfiore, and Manolita Suarez Herrera.Angel won Danzamerica’s Cooper Award(1990) and Gold Award (1996), the Jose Neglia Award From the Cultural Foundation of Buenos Aires,Argentina (1993), and also received a Ballet Teaching Certificate From the National University of Córdoba, Argentina (1994).During the 1990’s he performed with different Company’s around the world in productions like, Swan Lake ,Giselle, Sleeping Beauty and la File Mal Gardee. He also soloed around the world in lead roles with the Cuban National Company in productions’ of Don Quixote, Chopiniana, Swan Lake, and Giselle, as well as performing in many other productions.He performed at the Julio Bocca Ballet company,(Ballet Argentino) under the direction of Lydia Segnni. On the production of Paquita, Don Quixote, Swan Lake, Manuel de Falla‘s Songs, and Che Tango. Angel has lived in Utah since 2000,receiving a degree in accounting from BYU. And he is excited to share his talents with a new generation of dancers and make teaching ballet his full time career.
